Growing Up..

I luv presents! I luv gifts! I luv cards...xmas cards, bday cards, etc, etc! Unwrapping gifts, big or small...the anxiousness...the excitement...never fails to put a smile on my face. The right gift for the right person, requires so much effort and thoughts...whether he/she will like it, whether it will suit them, whether they already have it, etc, etc.

Year 2008 kicked off with a good start this year. I received many gifts from my boyfriend, girlfriends, and even from my sister! What a surprise! My sister! I can't remember the last time she bought me a gift, cuz, she usually treat me dinner or buy cakes...but gifts...wow...itz been a long, long time! :) Wonderful toiletries wrapped in beautiful gift box from Body Shop...just what I need!

And, guess what my dearest bought me? Surprisingly enough, there wasn't any flowers this year. The gift was wrapped in a big box...pretty heavy....and the moment I receive it, I knew it wasn't any romantic stuffs! Romantic items are usually light...Hehe!

My dearest said that he took such a long time to wrap it and even two (2) wrapping papers wasn't enough! Hmmm....guess what?! It was a Samsung 19" LCD monitor that I have been drooling three weeks ago when I saw it at my brother's house! And my dearest noticed! Hahaha! Luv this gift too....although, I must say, it is not as romantic, but a really practical gift! This is my dearest hubby 2b, always being the practical one (eg. LCD Monitor as a bday gift) and a little bit romantic (well, at least he wraps it nicely, HIMSELF)...

So, how can I not marry this guy? :D

Favors

Wedding favors are normally provided by the hotel or restaurant we hosts the dinner. Since it's free, many wedding couples would juz accept whatever that is offered...usually, it is cookie or cakes wrapped in cute little favor boxes. Many moons ago, there is no such thing as wedding favors, especially in a typical chinese wedding ceremony/dinner.

Of late, many couples would spend some money on wedding favors. We no longer want to use those provided FOC...it'z deemed not special, and not thoughtful...as some would put it. Others, would just shrug and find that, money can be put to better use than wedding favors!

As for me....wedding favor....sad to say....shy to admit...for me....is a MUST. It has to somehow, signify our wedding and serve as a token for guests that attended the wedding! It can be a DIY, it can be cheap, it can be anything...as long as much thoughts is put to it to design and/or purchase the wedding favor! Guests can eat them or throw them away after the wedding, but hey, at least, I would want them to know that their presence at the wedding...meant so much to us!

I have been googling and designing my own wedding favor with a tight budget. Of course, as of today, nothing is finalised yet..I am still checking and surfing the net for good bargains! It has to be something unique and thougtful...at least...

Dilemma...

It is almost 230am in the morning, and I still can't sleep! Knowing that tomorrow will be a long day at work, but still, my eyes are wide opened! Hmm..could be due to the dinner I had earlier...at this restaurant called "Emperor Garden"....the food was great, the ambience was ok...spacious....this MIGHT be the restaurant to host our wedding dinner...which *ahem* ...WHEN..is actually a more crucial question..

Such a dilemma! I don’t want to consult the temple medium or fortune teller for an auspicious date. I personally think it is too superstitious to believe a date will have any effect on my wedded bliss but on the other hand, I can't ignore it...arrghhh....

The "Date" is bugging me. I mentioned to my dearest earlier today, we really need to pick a date. And, the term "we" actually meant "me". Hehe...you see, my dearest's mum would need to ensure it is a good day...and she had, previously recomended three (3) dates during the "past" years...all which have expired by now :P Not ready, no go!!

This time, I told my dearest that I would first, confirm the dates..and then, we'll let his mum know and to "approve" whether it is a good day for both of us. Haha...poor auntie...no more false hope :P

Too bad August 8th is not a good day in 2008! Itz the month of the Hungry Ghost Festival..yikes!
