Chinese New Year!

Mum already begin to spread out news about my wedding to dear old relatives. Although no dates are confirmed yet, they are told to “expect” it “sometime towards end of the year”. Now, I can’t pull out anymore or change my mind! Isn’t my dear old mum a smartie!

I guess my reluctance to move away from familiarities is the main cause of this delay. Moving out for good means having to do all housework by your own, missing mummy cooking, and not having my dearest dog, Betsy with me all the time! Urrgh! Thinking of it too much, DOES have negative effect on me! Runaway bride? Nah….it only happens in movies! It is about time for me to share my life with my other half and move on. That’s what adults do. Sob! Sob!This is going to be the last year for me to grab angpows….

Here's to all reading this blog..

My Wedding Dress

If the wedding is to be held in September, I might need to starve myself immediately!! There would not be enough time for me to get myself fit! Dieting is hard enough and require so much patience and willpower….the fact that someone suggested Sept 3rd is absolutely driving me nuts!

If they insist on the dates, I would have to switch to meal replacement and deprive myself of all the good food during CNY. I might need to sign up for a gym and work-out 5 days a week. Hah! Wishful thinking!Back to facts, I really need to start my dieting, and begin an exercise regime. I need to go for more regular facials and I need a good hair cut! Talk is always easy…The only way I can motivate myself, I think, is to select a Wedding gown to drool over….print it out, and stick it near this computer screen to remind me on my goal!

Would it work? Hahahaha….I hope so!

Auspicious dates…

Auspicious dates…I can never understand why Chinese insist for an auspicious date for Wedding. I googled for the word “Auspicious” and the definition is that it is “being of a good omen; successful; favorable; beneficent..”. Next, I googled for the word "Superstitious" and found this meaning: "showing ignorance of the laws of nature and faith in magic or chance".

Personally, I feel that believing in an auspicious date, is akin to being Supertitious. But, can one IGNORE it? Especially in important occasion like “Wedding”? Although it sounds kinda ridiculous that your holy matrimony depends on a set of dates – it is equally difficult to ignore it. Ironic eh? Well, I guess you simply don’t want to have anything to blame if it doesn’t work out. Many of us will believe the unbelievable, simply because, we are afraid of two little words… “What If…”

Every year, without fail on several occasions, myself and my family will visit dear old dad at the temple. And every occasion without fail, we will buy his favourite food, favourite drinks, new shirts, new shoes, etc especially when CNY is around the corner. My dad used to advise me NOT to waste such money, as it is equivalent to burning REAL money! But his depart eight years ago is still deeply felt in our hearts. Missing him dearly, I can’t help but think of “What Ifs…” Again, ironic!

Back to my wedding auspicious date, we have decided to seek the advise from some highly recommended expert – located in Petaling Street – to seek for that “special” date. I heard that he carries a handphone, and we can call him in advance to prepare ourselves with relevant information so that it would save us numerous trip to see him. I already setup my mind to have my wedding in Nov or Dec…I hope this dude would give me the date I wish for……

Snoopy!!!

For every V-day, my bf will always buy me a small bouquet of flowers. Every year. For XX years, without fail. He will always hand-deliver, and he will stand outside the gate, with the bouquet behind his back...which, of course, I can "see"...I mean, after so many years, how can I not know? :) And yes, after so many years, it never fails to lighten up my day! Women and roses...how can we refuse!! And, it is always either 3 stalks ( I love you) or 5 stalks ( I love you very much)...hehe....

This year's bouquet came with a little surprise! I guess, it could be because we are finally getting married. My bouquet this year comes with cute little snoopies! (err..snoopy(s)) Look at this cuties!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!
