JPN.KC02

I finally collected the Marriage Registration form! Yay! Finally! We will fill it up tomorrow, paste our photos, and submit it the next day! After that, we have to wait for 21 days, before we can finally SIGN, SEAL and KISS our Singlehood away!

There are only 32 days left to our Wedding Dinner. Can we make it on time to ROM before this date? Haha..I don't think so! Perhaps, we will ROM AFTER the AD. Feb 14th is a good date! Sweet and romantic! Or...13th Nov 2009....or 9th Sept 2009...*chuckle*

Have to sit down and ask my sweetie. :P

I personally don't see any reasons or problem to ROM after the AD. As long as we ROM. As long as we sign the papers. :)

And oops, I can't help but bought a REAL wedding band! REAL because this time, both are identical :) Will use this for as our ROM rings (although we are already wearing them now)..

Hate 'em, Love 'em

When I first saw a pair of Crocs, I told myself.."What an ugly pair! How could any sane person have designed this? Phua Choo Kang must have a role in this! It looks so much like his yellow boot design! Yuck, yuck and yuck!

That was quite sometime ago.

Yesterday, mum was telling me about a pair of Crocs her friend showed her. She tried it on, and it was very very comfortable. Wow...nowadays, aunties are so up-to-date. Since I am on leave today, I decided to take her to IKANO and shop for a pair of Crocs. She asked me to get a pair too, but I told her "Nah, I don't wanna look like some sort of construction site worker!"

Shoes and women. Women and shoes. We just have to try it. Whether you like it or not, since you're there, just try one. And viola! Dislike turns to Like. Hate turns to Love. A friend once told me, NEVER EVER say you hated something, cuz, in the end, you will highly probably luv it!

Ok, I bought a pair for myself. Well..I have no slippers now. Didn't manage to try on a pair, as my toe was still in a bandage. But even on one foot, it looked cute! Hehe!

So, here's my pair of Crocs. And mum looked cool in one too!!

Darah Manis

According to my Malay colleagues, brides-to-be are believed to have "darah-manis"...aka "sweet-blood" (direct translation!). It is the time where brides-to-be are prone to small/little "accidents" that will cause small injuries. Royal brides-to-be will be required to stay at home or confined within one's home, not allowed to go out at all! Wahhhh....

Last Friday, while on the way to work..I stopped at a nearby shop and slipped! My poor toe was severely in pain, with scratches on my leg. Ouch! I quickly visited a Dr Suresh, whom gave me a painful jab on my little toe, and snipping away some flesh and nails. OMG! Now my toe looks so ugly :(. He finishes it with a nice bandage around my toe! I was given an MC to rest at home as I will experience severe pain after the anasthetic is gone...Geee...

Today, barely 5 days after the incident..and my toe was about to heal...I went to the bank, it was raining and it was slippery...and I FELL! Can you believe this? I FELL. POKAI. Seriously POKAI. This time, I hurt my back..bruises all over. :(

Not wanting to believe in "Darah Manis" story, I blame in on my slipper. On both unfortunate occasion, I was wearing the same darn slipper. This slipper was purchased from a Manicure shop. Bye Bye Slipper!

Trial Makeup

Her name: Ms Cathy, a freelance MUA. I stumbled upon her at a bride's forum, where she advertised her services at http://www.simplychic.com.my/

The one thing I really do like about her is that she is a very responsible lady, and does follow up promptly. That's why I decided to give her a try. PLUS, her package price is reasonable :)

We met at 3pm, she came into my house with 3-4 bags. I requested a trial WITH hairdo. If I decided not to engage her, I will need to pay her RM 50/=. The trial lasted for more than 3 hours. It is considered LONG hours for a bridal makeup. It could be due to her lack of experience? Or, perhaps, some of her tools were missing? (since she admitted accidentally leaving one bag out for this trip) Whatever it is, it took 3++ hours!

I luv the makeup. So did my mum, sis and a girlfriend whom was there. I luv the hair, cuz from front, it is how I wanted it to be. However, all of them commented that my hair is "too" messy (i requested for messy look) and that, Cathy's skill in hair wasn't too good. Hmmm.

This MUA puts in so much effort, I can tell. After the whole thing, she apologises to me as she feels that she didn't do a good job...cuz, her tools were not with her. Hmm. Nice gal. And she even refuse to take RM 50 from me, instead, she insist that I do another trial with her. And this time, she will make sure she does not leave out ANY bags!

At night, I asked my bf of the style. Indeed, he luvs it - the makeup - it was very natural. He also commented on my messy hair :P Cathy sms me later that night, and apologise and ask to for a change to arrange for another trial.

Hmm. She is a nice gal. I like her. :) She uses MAC, Bobbi Brown, etc - good stuffs! Compared to my bridal studio MUA whom uses XXX brands...from China, I think? :P

So, decided. Will get her as my MUA for the day! I called her, and informed her the good news...we have both agreed to take a break from our busy schedule to do the HAIR one day :)

SMILE! *click*

From 930am to 8pm...that was the number of hours spent on our wedding photo-shoot. Actually, 6pm to 8pm weas stuck in horrendous traffic jam along LDP!

Kudos to my bf on his patience during this photo-shoot. Really, I think the guys deserve a standing ovation for going thru such gruelling session with the bride! Well, my bf at least :) The instructions from the PS, the make-up on his face, coloured hair, new hairstyle...and not to mention, the costume he had to wear :P

The morning started with thick makeup on my face, false eyelashes, false hair and even false nails. Hmm. A glance at the mirror reminds me of my mum! Geez! My MUA, Penny was quick and quite good at her skills..and she helped me with my gowns. As I did not wear any silicon bra (huh? nvr heard of it) - she had to put her hands to scoop up my breasts so that it is in the right position of the gown. Wahh....thank god she did it like a pro! Originally, we did not want any traditional costume...but gave in to the Japanese style in the end. And my, he looked so handsome in the Japanese costume...while, I...ermm...look more like a mamasan :P

PS kept asking me to smile and show my teeth. At one point, I really thought I am shooting a toothpaste advert! "1, 2....smile, smile arr....see ur teeth...more teeth arr..." Aiyoyo...

Nevertheless, we both enjoyed the session despite the long hours. It is tiring, but indeed a good experience. How would the picture looks like? Well...will wait for it this coming Thursday! And no, we have agreed NOT to add any pictures. * Finger crossed * ... (err..I hope I can tahan..)

Our Wedding Band

Honestly, I have no idea what a WEDDING BAND is, previously. Okay, at least I know it is NOT a Band - as in like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard type of band. It is a pair of rings. Yeah, a PAIR. And it does puzzled me further. I already have a bling bling ring from my bf, why do I need ANOTHER ring? Which finger should I put it in?

Wedding ring vs wedding band. Wah...I think these are pure marketing gimmicks. It is the jewellery shops trying make more $$ by trying to differentiate the two. In the end, I got an answer: "Well...wedding band is for everyday wear, it is more casual and simple. As for wedding ring, it is normally of "bling bling" type and not suitable to wear all day long." Hmm. That was what I heard from the wise one.

Ok, so both of us have decided to get ourselves a wedding band. Well...at least, we need it for our photoshoot. And perhaps, can use it for exchange of rings during our ROM. Ok, serve few purpose.

We decided not to splurge on the wedding band. Instead, will get an economical, ok type of ring la. And since we can't really get a PAIR that both of us liked...we paired it ourselves. One is from Poh Kong, another one from Love Diamond. Ta da....
