Can I DIY this?

Luv this! My mission tomorrow is to go to SSF and get something similar! I MUST have this! Mmmmm!!!! Need 22 sets! Budget..budget :) Pink & Champagne Colour...niceee!

MUAs

Learnt quite a number of new acronym ever since I joined d bride's forum. ROM, AD, BS, PG, etc, etc and MUA. Huh? MUA? "M"ake "U"p "A"rtist. Heee...yeah!
I started my search for MUAs. Got lots of referrals from the bridal forum. Price ranges from RM 400 to Thousands depending of your requirement. Trial costs RM50, FOC if you signed up with them. What qualifies a good MUA? Hmmm. One thing for sure, the MUA whom does the trial makeup HAS to be the same MUA on the actual day!

What look would I want? Nothing fancy. Not too plain. Not too natural, otherwise, why pay for a MUA? But then again, not too cakey...am not an opera star!

Below are some MUAs that contacted me. Who to choose? How many trials should I go for?
1) Meoki Tong (meoki_academy@yahoo.com)
2) Jessica Ma (jessica1423@gmail.com)
3) Rosanna_tcy (rosanna.mua@gmail.com)

4) Ann Ong (anong0609@hotmail.com)

One of the risk of having a free-lance MUA is the reliability. Geez, can you imagine if they fail to turn up on the Wedding Day?

Freakin' Out, Baby

I just attended my cousin's wedding. And my..oh my...I can't help but freaked out! The "Let It Be" tune seems to fade away...and so is the "Don't Worry, Be Happy" tune too...

WHAT? Me, freaking out?

Errm...well, ROM dates not confirmed, No Gown yet, No MUA yet, No Caterers yet, Canopy None,
Florists who? Cards incomplete, favors lost in space....YIKEEESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, my wedding is scheduled on DECEMBER! 2008! 2 months? 3 months? YIKEEEESSSS x 2!!

My DIY Wrist Corsage

Ok, I admit. I might NOT be THAT good at DIY after all. Need to add in some organzas. Hmm?

What? RM8 a piece? Wow, I just got a quote from a florist charging me only RM8 each. If it's true, I can kiss this DIY Wrist Corsages goodbye! Wonder if it can be something similar like this...

The reason why I am not getting my jee-muis to do this is because, I think, this should be a personal gift from me to them, as my dearest bridesmaid. And oh yes, I will not make you wear an ugly wrist corsage, I promise :)

Map to Restaurant

Phew! Finally, I managed to draw the map to our Wedding Restaurant using MS Excel. The one provided by the restaurant itself is too brief! I tried googling for maps to this place but there wasn't any maps pointing to this restaurant. The nearest I could get is those pointing to Wisma Fiamma!

As I am DIYing my Wedding Card, I planned to put this map inside my wedding card.

Of course, before I put it in...will try to drive this route to ensure that it is absolutely, error-free map!

Zzzz...time to sleeep....finally! Yikes! 2am liao....time flies..................

Message Cards DIY

One of my DIY projects are message cards. When guests arrive for the dinner, they will be handed a card and are encouraged to write their wishes/blessings for the newly weds.

My design is pretty simple here, I am just using colours & fonts to my advantage. Initially, I plan to have few designs to use, but one of my friend commented it might end up looking err..."rojak"? Nevermind I thought, will keep on designing it until the final countdown...Haha, no sweat!

When I told my dearest mum of my intention, her immediate response was.."Aiyaa...wasting time on small things AGAIN!"...Although, she said that the cards looks "nice" - she also told me not to expect her friends to write any messages. "You know lah, uncle, aunties - would not entertain/do these type of things one lah.."

Of course I don't expect EVERYONE to write on the cards. But I am sure those close and "younger" ones would not hesitate to write a small message :) After the wedding, I plan to use these cards in my Wedding Scrapbook for memories!

The only problem now is to find a some nice branches to hang these cards at the entrance of the restaurant. Oops, not problem...but challenge! Yah! Challenge to find the right branch, with the right height and the right curves.

So! The Wedding Wishes Tree project will continue!

Lunch Box wif Love

I opened the fridge and noticed that the Parmesan cheese I bought it expiring 4th of Sept 2008. And well...today is 4th Sept 2008. If I don't use it now, it is going to waste. Hence, I took out a can of Prego Carbonara Mushroom sauce, spaghetti and headed to the kitchen! And the time is...10pm!

Added lotz of garlic and cheese into the sauce, cooked to yummy perfection! Drained out the ala-dente spaghetti (thanks to internet, I managed to cook it right!) and finally, added in some sausages (my bf fav) and some prawns (my fav). By the time I finished, it was well, already 1115pm and they say, cooking spaghetti is a breeze! Ask me about it! I packed it up into nice little lunch box here for my bf, well, he can either eat it during lunch; or if he is shy (which I would ustand) - he can then eat it as breakfast before work in the morning! Here how it look like:

YUMMY!! Taste perfect and although I am supposed to be on a strict diet...well..what the heck! Hahaha! I packed one box for my own lunch tomorrow! My tired bf was asleep on the sofa while waiting for me...clutching the little lunchbox tightly.... :)

Red Wine? Anyone?

I asked my mum whether any Red Wines are to be served during our wedding dinner. She said, "Of course dear, you know how expensive it is if we were to serve hard liquor?" Costs aside, I wouldn't want my guests to be madly drunk and embarass themselves in front of hundreds of people! So, yeah, no hard liquor please!

Stumbled upon this issue on d bride's forum, and this is really funny:-

"too expensive wine are useless, guests - who mainly not a wine connoisseur do not know how to appreciate wine. n i doubt the banquet manager will have those wide-rimmed wine glass to let the wine to be appreciated properly. they will just gulped the wine down their throat and do not even know wat is the meaning of 'after taste'.better get something cheaper with moderate quality to be served during dinner. if guests dunno how to appreciate n leave half-empty glasses all around, we won't feel so heart pain.

"Besides the above-mentioned, sometimes guests just keep drinking & drinking for the sake of making their 'angpow' worth it. There goes all the expensive wines."

LOL!! As for me, my main concern is not the wine...it is this butterfly placecard that i DIYed, it has to sit on a wine glass...so, now that we are serving wine, I will get this project rolling!! The guest name will be printed on the wing...niceeee...

That's me! I am always good in planning the "other" things, and not the "main" thing! If anyone of you needs the above template, do visit Martha Stewart's website :)
